Skull reshaping and Contouring
Skull reshaping, contouring, or augmentation can be performed in patients who are concerned or unhappy with shape and appearance of their skull. This can be due to congenital abnormalities or related to trauma.
Skull contouring can remove bumps, ridges, and can change skulls that are too flat, wide, or narrow.
A variety of materials are used ranging for autologous bone grafts, hydroyapatite (bone cement) and custom designed Polyetheretherketone (PEEK) implants.
Polyetheretherketone (PEEK) is a synthetic material that has the properties of being biocompatible, resistant to thermal and ionizing radiation, and resembles cortical bone biomechanically. These favorable characteristics have led to the increasing use of PEEK implants for skull deformities and defects.
Jaw Augmentation or Reduction
Bone and skeletal surgery can be performed to either reduce or augment the jaw. Techniques such as sliding genioplasty, T- osteotomy, along with jaw angle implants maybe used.
Facial Masculinization Surgery
Facial Masculinization Surgery is for transgender female to male patients who are looking to change the feminine features of a female face to be more masculine. Fortunately, for most female to male (FTM) transgender patients, testosterone therapy can significant masculinize the face and also voice. Masculinization surgery procedures can help to create strong male features such as forehead bossing, angular and strong jaws, and prominent adam’s apple.

Adam’s apple surgery to increase prominence
Adam’s apple can also be created using either nasal septal cartilage or rib cartilage. The graft cartilage is then used to augment the prominence of the adam’s apple to more a masculine appearance. The incision is hidden underneath the chin in an inconspicuous location.
Augmentation Rhinoplasty
Rhinoplasty can be performed to provide a strong masculine profile. The nose is typically made more prominent using rib cartilage grafts.
Chin Augmentation and Sliding Genioplasty
Male jaw and chins are longer and squarer with a flatter base. Jaw Masculinization can be performed with either custom jaw implants that increase the size of the chin in all dimensions in proportion to a male ideal. A sliding genioplasty can be performed to augment the chin and for patients who wish to have a stronger, more angular and masculine chin.
